Parish Council
The St. Katharine Drexel Parish Council was formed in 2013. Its purpose is to assist our Pastor in developing and deepening the parish faith community in order to fulfill the mission of Jesus.
About our Parish Council: The Parish Council shall comprise twelve members. Each of the nine Standing Committees shall elect/appoint one member to serve on the Parish Council. The Parish Youth Group shall also elect/appoint one member to serve on the Parish Council. The Pastor and the Parish Secretary shall also serve on the Parish Council.
Parish Council members elected/appointed by the Standing Committees and the Youth Group shall serve for two years. A member may serve for two consecutive terms; however, if two consecutive terms are served, the member may not serve again for a period of three years.
Term limits may be staggered during the first 3-5 years so that at least 3 of the 10 members who are elected/appointed by the Standing Committees include individuals with Parish Council experience.
In cooperation with the pastor, the leader of our faith community, the Parish Council provides direction for the parish. Each Parish Council member is expected to participate fully in the meetings and activities of their Standing Committee and to update the full Parish Council on the decisions and activities of their Standing Committee.
