+The Office of the Marian Apostolate will sponsor the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Mother's Garden near the St. Joseph Cathedral at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22nd. All are invited.

+Taste the Goodness: The Catholic Community Foundation is seeking volunteers to assist with this upcoming event, scheduled for Sat., August 24th from 5-9 p.m., outdoors at the Avera Tech Building on 11th St. in downtown Sioux Falls. We are looking for assistance in serving tastings of food, beverages, beers, and wines, along with assisting with games, setting up and tearing down, silent auction runners, and garbage detail. +Angel Dean Reunion Concert: Join Catholic recording artist Lance Edward as he reunites one last time with his band “Angel Dean” for their last public concert event. Featuring special guest Melissa Jean, concert proceeds will support Call to Freedom, the anti-human-trafficking organization in Sioux Falls. Admission is free, so bring the whole family. The concert is Tuesday, Sept. 3rd at 7 p.m. at Sioux Falls First Church (6300 W. 41st Street). This event is sponsored by LifeLight and Call to Freedom.

+Grieving the Loss of a Parent or Sibling: Directed by Dr. Marcie Moran, this 6-week program (Sept. 17th-Oct. 22nd) is for Adults grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. They play significant roles in our lives and this loos requires a significant adjustment. The group will meet Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Catholic Family Services 523 N. +The 24th Annual Bishop’s Charity Hunt is scheduled for Mon. and Tues., September 23rd & 24th at Horseshoe “K” Ranch near Kimball, SD. This is a truly memorable outing that includes lodging, breakfast, lunch, dinner, a social, trap shoot, hunting, and pheasant cleaning. An additional bonus is fellowship with Bishop Swain, daily Mass, and interaction with many priests of our diocese. +Walking Rosary is held on the first Friday of every month at St. Michael Cemetery (rain or shine) beginning at 10 a.m. Please gather at the Chapel on the west side of the office. When the weather doesn't cooperate, we stay in the Chapel.

August is our month to support the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (Red Sisters) at St. Joseph Cathedral. Please take a slip from the basket in the Gathering Space, buy the item(s), and return them to the tub marked “Donations for the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.” Please drop off any gift certificates or cash in the Parish Office. Our annual Parish Picnic will be Saturday, August 24th, starting at 6 p.m. on the grounds of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. There will be great food, fun, fellowship, and (of course), Bingo! We’ll also have a Backpack Blessing for our students. Plan now to join in this fun community event!

 St. Katharine Drexel Parish serves supper at the St. Francis House (1301 E. Austin St.) on    the 3rd Friday evening of each month. Four people are needed to come at 5:30 p.m. to help make and serve supper and 3 people are needed to bake goodies for dessert. The    sign-up sheets for September-November are available in the Gathering Space.


You are invited to join members of our parish at 3 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays in front of Planned Parenthood (6511 W. 41st Street) to pray for a greater respect for all human life from conception to natural death. We pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary and would love to have you join us.
